aboltfan, John believes it is a Mark Bansner High Tech stock, as for the barrel I shall see what I can find out.

From what I remember the barrel was 23" long--which would measure 22" from the front of the action. (I had several rifles built with 23" barrels during that time-period, when I couldn't decide whether to go 22" or 24".) Charlie mostly uses Lilja barrels these days, but the on on this .300 might have been a Hart.

The metal finish is probably Cerakote, as Charlie was one of the first custom makers to use it, and applied it properly, due to knowing the guy who developed it, Chet Fish--who is still working in the nano-coatings biz, now from Montana.

It's very accurate, and I can supply some handloads that worked. It served me very well from Canada to Mexico, including taking the two following animals, a 6x6 elk from northern British Columbia, and a Sonora mule deer.

I remember this rifle, but not all the details. That must have been 20 years or so ago. Probably a Lilja barrel, 1x10 twist, stainless.

Charlie,

Yep! According to my handloading notes, I first fired the rifle in March of 2001....
