A pleasure to carry in many places...kinda like an American Express card. Bonus points - who know what the dish is that it is sitting in?

3” S&W Model 640 Independence Day Weekend Project. From this: … to this: … then this: Still a ways to go, though. Got a proper length center pin and ejector rod on the way. Then, deepen the front sight slot to accept an XS Tritium Standard Dot front sight, mask and lightly sand blast the center of the barrel rib, epoxy in the front sight, and done.
Every day’s an adventure.

Not a spit toon, it is a candy or nut dish but question is what is the base made out of? look closely, there is a clue in the description. Bonus points for just fun.

Just wondering what frame they made the 32cal revolvers on. Thinking more than one as the 32's went back to top break models. Later, both J & K I think, before that thinking the I frame could be had in a 32.

I found an old 32 cal s&w at an old abandoned mining site when I was a young fella. It was a swing out style cylinder but I'm not certain if it was a j frame but it was definitely smaller than a k frame.

Just wondering what frame they made the 32cal revolvers on. Originally, the I-Frame, but later they made both .32 and .38 on the J-Frame to save having to manufacture two small frames of nearly identical size. The difference was that the I-Frame was just a bit shorter in the cylinder area. They stretched the I-Frame a little in that area to make the J-Frame, so as to accommodate the longer cylinder for the longer .38 Special round.

Day late but I’ve got two. The blued one I bought new. If I remember correctly it shot 6” left at 25’ with everything I tried. I sent it back to S&W. They sent it back to me with a barrel alignment. Thing shoots right where you aim now. The other one is really my wife’s toy. It’s a good accurate $300 shooter. I’d like to find a set of original rosewood grips for it, Ladysmith.

It's a candy or nut dish and the the base is the scrotum of a cape buffalo. One of the "traditional"taxidermy products from cape buffalo.

Here's a couple of pre-82 square butts. The one on the left has an aluminum frame.

Does the key lock still work with all the crud and corrosion in it?
