I went out on Lower Oahe Saturday Am, flat calm and tough fishing. I was doubting life.
Sunday night, my nephew had word of a small lake by Watertown that was on fire with big fish. Six of us set out in three boats and got three walleyes, nothing to write home about. I was unimpressed.
Monday morning, I took a great friend along and we hammered them on Waubay Lake. All plastics, limit by 9am, just look at that grin. Not alot of size to them but we kept fishing and threw them back. Home by noon and gave fish to my mom and my mother in law, they were thrilled.
Yesterday dawned very stormy so no fishing on the 4th. This weekend will be the next opportunity!
