Cabin toilets incinerary...? I got buddies whose wives are afraid of the outhouse. I don't know why we're just a bunch of drunks that eat good food.... what are you guys using out there..... can,in sit in the winter time till you get there ? We're going to keep it attached to the cabin so it'll be warm by the stove when you get there and heat 5he place up...it will also be sitting a long time at 20 below or whatever winners got going..

If it is "warm" and attached to the cabin you will have outhouse odors in the cabin. Keep the styrofoam ring inside the cabin, take it with you when you go and don't read a book while you are in the can.

What exactly are they “afraid” of in the phone booth?

Only a puzzy needs that stuff tho. The operative word is "need!".

I'm hoping to find a chunk, so I don't have to buy a piece for our Lobo cabin. At our Interior Cosna cabin, since we only visit in the summer, a lit piece of PIC is of far more importance.

The only incinerator toilets I found when I looked a while back were 240V. If you have grid power available, it might be feasible. I've never seen/used one in real life, but the marketing sounds like it should be pretty cool.

However, for my money on a weekend cabin... build an outhouse, insulate the house (with vapor barrier), vent the hole well and throw a heater of your choice in the house. With a blue board seat, there is no need to keep the seat in the cabin. They are instantly warm. Then make sure you have a way to seal hole off from the house, which is as easy as a flat lid so you aren't stinking up the house part. If the wife needs a covered walkway so she doesn't have to walk through the snow, then plan for that and make it a little closer to the cabin, but I wouldn't have the outhouse in the same building.

Give the girls enough time. Tell them you got rid of the outhouse. Paint it blue. They'll eventually learn how to use the port-a-potty.

No 12V power for fan and controls? Keeping a battery charged would be the biggest issue I would think.

I'm with cwh2, go with a deluxe outhouse with propane heater for much less hassle.

A distant outhouse may convince the gals to stay home.

Our northern Maine camp has no power or running water but does have an indoor toilet for liquids only. It’s a cast iron sink with a custom made cover and seat. The drain is a pipe straight down through the floor (with an inside trap) into a plastic chamber as deep as I could dig the hole. Water is poured into the “toilet” after each use. Antifreeze is poured into the trap in the winter if the camp isn’t being used. The outhouse must be used for once a day occasions. Any mistaken use of the inside facilities must be cleaned up by the perpetrator! It’s only happened twice in ten years.
