Are they really as good as they say?? Posted in the classifieds I'm looking for one but all I've gotten for replies is check PSA. Just wanting to know cause this would be my first and I'm not looking for a 16" variety. Thanks.

What do you want to do with it? What length? I have a PSA pistol length 300 BO. Goes bang every time, accurate enough with a red dot sight.

Would be a play toy, home defense gun, may do some short range deer hunting with it (under 100 yards)

Every AR newbie needs to understand the NFA laws and ATF rules before they get themselves arrested and put in prison for 5 years.

You want a non registered Short Barreled Rifle, do you. Well get ready for over a year's weight for approval and the papers. Only use for a 10 and a 300 is with heavy bullets and a can, another filing for the can.

A 16" barrel is a buy and use deal, no fuss, no muss.

You buy a rifle lower and stick a 10" pistol barrel on it without registering it and you are just waiting to get yourself arrested for possession of an illegal firearm. Use it in self defense, you go to jail.

Maybe the OP already has a pistol or SBR lower, and maybe a can too?

Just spitballing here.

The 9” version is great on a SBR or pistol lower. Nice and quiet with a can and subsonics. It’s fine with 110 gr SuperSonics, but so is a 5.56 with 62 gr hollow points.

I've put about 750 rounds suppressed through one with zero issues. Not "hard use" or classes, but some mag dumps by the kids.

Very true. Had some jackass reply to an ad I had on VaGuntrader for an AK and asked if it could be made full auto. Deleted the ad and stayed off there for years.

I've got the 10" upper and it won't cycle subsonics. I drilled out the gas port and installed an adjustable gas break but haven't had an opportunity to shoot it yet after the conversion.

I have a few different PSA uppers and lowers. They have all been functional and I really have no complaints.

I use a 7.5" upper, along with a 7" suppressor. So far it has gone bang every time I've puled the trigger with subs or supers, except once. That was a case rupture on some reman subsonic ammunition. Just enough to lodge the bullet about 2" down the tube. Definitely wasn't the pistols fault.

It was a blem upper with LPK, and I use an Anderson blem lower. Before the Rise Armament trigger upgrade, I had about $370 total in the build. Accuracy is good enough with the Sig MSR RDS I'm using.

My 16" CMMG wouldn't cycle subs until I put in a lighter buffer spring designed for subsonic rounds.
