I am looking for actual brass spec for the 7x57 A I. I thought the round was SAMMI approved but can not find the information I am looking for. Anyone load the A I version? I have a custom rifle and has a modern day action (Rem 700) so pressure is not a factor . The fire formed length of the brass is what I am wanting. Thanks Daniel

There's no standard yet that I know of.

MinCo:
Is that the RCBS Improved? I think the AI has a 40 degree shoulder. I could, however, be reading the print wrong.

I am not sure what cartridge the drawing is but the total length of the brass is far greater that what I get using new brass and fire forming. Thanks Daniel

It's a QL drawing and it has a 40 degree shoulder. It's what QL makes predictions on. A RCBS Improved?? there is the problem, no standards.

Yes, I see it now. My mistake.

I am not smart enough to ask the right question but I am almost positive that the 7x57 A. I. is SAMMI approved, I just can't find out where to look. The majority of the once fired brass will be about 2.225 t0 2.235. Thanks Daniel

I looked the SAMMI site over too. Most of what SAMMI and CIP have I've downloaded to the computer. They did standardized the 280 AI.

MickinColo, I went back and looked at your drawing a second & third time and I beleive the drawing IS a 7x57 AI. I misread some of the numbers as to what length they applied too. The 2.235 in is VERY CLOSE TO WHAT I AM GETTING. Thanks for your assistance. Daniel
