Anyone have a spare 1903 Springfield barrel laying around in the closet. Looking for a barrel for my 1921 ‘03 preferably with rear sight collar.

I could use the same. Looking for a 24" M1903 barrel with a good U.S. 30 cal chamber. Prefer WWI vintage, but even a two groove would do. Planning a JES 35 Whelen for it. Hopefully Gnoahhh will be along shortly to point the way.

The CMP sells new ones. I realize they are not vintage but they shoot very well.

I would most certainly use a new Criterion barrel, either direct from the factory or from the CMP - if it's to be used as a "shooter". The Criterion barrels I've used shot as well as original Star Gauged barrels, sometimes better. Hold out for a nice original barrel if originality is the goal, but they've gotten to be damned expensive. They pop up on eBay from time to time. Any barrel dated from WWI to WWII would be appropriate - '03's with barrels original to the gun's "birth year" are quite rare, most having gone through Arsenal rehab at least once in their lives with attendant re-barreling. In 1921 they were still using up some WWI dated barrels for new production at the Armory.
Gaschekt: I have a barrel that might suit your needs, if re-boring is your intent. PM inbound. OP: I only have a couple but they wouldn't suit you I'm sure. (There's reasons why they aren't on any of my rifles.)
