I went to get a plastic storage tote thang off the top shelf in my barn. When I leaned it down a big pine snake fell off it onto my head and shoulders. He scared hell out of me. He hauled ass out the door. I had to sit down a second. Snakes don’t scare me much, but damn!

Non-venenomous, right? Still. If that dropped on you I'd need to change my pants.
All we have in my neck of the woods are garter snakes.

I was using a sling blade years ago quite vigorously when a big snake dropped off my backswing and landed across my shirtless shoulders and around my neck. Time stopped, and when it started back up, he was gone. Took me a minuet to get back up to speed as well.

Damn, any snake falling on one's head and shoulders would drastically increase pucker factor.

Like, heart attack exciting...
I'm glad he didn't have those fangy things, that would be even more exciting.

I walked out the back door last week and almost stepped on a 5 foot black snake. Since we've got a bumper crop of mice this summer, he looked well fed. I let him go about his business unmolested!

I am not afraid of snakes either, but that would have had me high stepping!

I heard an older fella say one day, "Snakes and wasps are not likely to really hurt you, but they will damn sure make you hurt yourself!" I agree....

I was raking hay a few years ago with an open air John Deere 5400 and had been running over an hour with my left arm propped on the fender. From where he came I do not know but I felt something touch my left elbow and lo and behold it was a huge in diameter and length snake about the color of a copperhead but wasn't a pit viper. I stood up with my left foot on the footrest and the snake went across the seat and off the right (starboard) side fender of the tractor. He got away before the rake got him as I had jerked the throttle back when I stood up.
If that had been my youngest daughter I am positive she would have jumped off and either the tractor wheel or the rake would have gotten her. Never have I known a person as scared of snakes as she is. She cannot even look at a picture of one.

The only sensible thing to do is burn the barn down.
Good luck.

I could hear myself squealing. We have a lot of them around here, had a Coral Snake go over the top of my foot in the squash forest one year in flip flops. My feet were dancing, but I hadn’t told them to do cshit. Had an armload of squash, went everywhere.
