For those inclined towards spicy mustard, Jeff Bezos will sell you a jar or squeeze bottle of Colman's English Mustard, straight out of King Chuck's refrigerator. It ain't cheap, but a little goes a pretty long way. Colman's mustard doesn't get its heat from chilies - it gets it from mustard itself, and a fairly potent blend at that. Picture a cross between yellow table mustard and wasabi from the Chinese restaurant, and that is basically Colman's. If you don't like wasabi, you probably won't like Colman's. For some reason, I think it's particularly good on cheese. Here was lunch, a few slices of Muenster deli cheese with a money shot of Colman's on them. Good stuff.

Good stuff. Here's one that isn't as "hot" but is very fine with sausages and such:

It's not a comparison, just a mention for mustard fanciers who visit the thread.

I'm getting that one next.
How potent is the Lowensenf extra hot? That's the one the local store carries.

I didn't see your edit.....the extra hot is really quite mild. Maybe a "medium"?

1/2 cup dried hot Coleman mustard powder mixed with 1/4 cup white vinegar. Let that sit at room temp for 4 hours. Then put in small saucepan, put heat on low and whisk in an egg yolk until thickened.
It'll clear your sinuses out in no time.

How long does it stay hot after it's been opened?

I've noticed no change in taste or spiciness in my squeeze bottle, and I've had it for probably two months in our fridge.

Well...in that case they should try Lowensenf. Been eating on a jar of that for a bit now. Had some yesterday with a Superpretzel from the freezer, Grocery Outlet was selling them pretzels, 6 in a box, for $0.99 the other day, I couldn't resist as I love bg soft pretzels. With good mustard.

I had a burger in London once, and whatever mustard was on it tasted something like paint, IMO. It was terrible.
