Had some fly boots that my mule wouldn't leave on.
Kinda made me crabby as they cost about$50 .
I just needed them on the fronts, cause the flys really like white front legs.
I got Shoofly mediums cause that was the smallest one they had.
My molly mule is 14.2 hands and about 1000#.
She peeled them right off in minutes.
Soi I says maybe they are too large.
Next size down was 1" shorter and 1' smaller diameter.
So I folded them in 1/2 and hand sewed a line 1/2 in from top to bottom.
Then when I put them on I folded the top over "down" about 1 1/2" and then hooked the velcro.
Now at least they are on for a day or so to do what I paid for.

I tried both boots and the small ones that are about out 3 " wide. Mules had both types off in less than an hour. It is lot less frustrating and cheaper for me to spray them twice a day.
It is about like trying all the methods to keep a mule from pawing. Just hobble them.
Switch to a sulfur salt block and that helps with flies
If God wanted you to walk and carry things on your back, He would not have invented stirrups and pack saddles

Pine tar smeared on my mules front lower legs greatly relieved him. Lasts 2-5 days it seems. I also spray but when the onslaught came, pine tar was the answer. Helps heal the previous bites too. F01
