July 31st is coming fast. It doesn't look good so far on the union talks. UPS thinks that management can cover the load of 300,000 union workers. I don't think so

Management.........over the course of a week or two.......would deliver the packages that were currently in he system at the time the strike occurred.
No new volume would be put into the system.

You make an excellent point... I will stock up NOW on 20 bags of FREE DELIVERY salt AND 20 bags of FREE DELIVERY fertilizer... 1,600 pounds delivered FREE... before this chitshow starts...
If you are not actively engaging EVERY enemy you encounter... you are allowing another to fight for you... and that is cowardice... plain and simple.

I asked my on road supervisor to run my route while we are on strike since I’m out in the country. Management is already having part time supervisors get their F endorsement to drive a pkg car and try to deliver pkgs if we strike. If we strike, and I personally think we will, you all will be witness to one of the biggest schit shows in recent history. People will actually have to go to a store for food and cat litter. Medical supplies and medicine to peoples homes will come to a standstill.
Oh….and my manager cannot even drive a straight shift truck. Most of the feeder driver supervisors cannot drive a rig with a 9 speed manual. If you see a UPS truck on the road after Aug 1 and we are on strike, give it some room.

Of course they do.
Tell me the last time a politician did something for the unions. Not Teachers or Public Service, but the private employed unions?
Unions are like Black's, every election cycle Dems make promises, and the Rubes deliver. And the Dems disappear. Until the next election. And the dumbasses never figure it out! Instead, the get trade agreements that takes their job to ChinaMexiNam.
Good chance there won't be a strike. Everyday closer to the deadline makes it less likely, in my experience. Always wondered why we didn't negotiate our contracts well before the deadline. Finally figured it out (slow learner). I work with a bunch of debt starved, broke ass, nuttless idiots. Management knows that if they negotiate 2 months early, labor might grow a pair. But if they wait until the last week, the Brokedicks will be afraid to walk. They can't afford to miss even 1 days wages.
Parents who say they have good kids..Usually don't!

Ordered a Vg6 gamma 5.56 comp/ brake for the mod 2 Saturday at Cowboy Dan's LGS and pawn. Grady dropped a order for a total of 750 bucks for the free shipping from Chattanooga Shooting Supply.
As long as my Gamma comes in before the 31st. Should be by wens anyways.
I could give 2 sweet fuuks about whatever strike honestly.
But I can see how it would affect a whole lot of schit across alot of schit. Hopefully they get schit worked out for what the fuuuk ever resolution.
Just one tiny example..
Pee Paw and Mee Maw not getting their depends and handy wipes on time out in bumfuuk USA. Things would get pretty schitty for them pretty fast I bet.

I remember when my local 'ole folks home' would get 50 cartons of Depends On my Brown truck...........dammmmmmmm Also remember when west lanes of I-70 were being built------1987 I'd drive 50 miles each way to deliver an important part To the contractors waiting...... Those 225+ mile days were money in the bank Do the math......200 + mile days & 27 years & never a ticket

Got the UPS main Hiub for town 3/4ths of a mile as the crow flies from the house. Nice to be able to put a hold on a pkg and pick it up at 9am day of delivery. They start their routes around here waaay the fuuuk out and work back to the center. Waiting all day on a pkg is waay worse than Xmas morning waiting. Especially if it is a gun part or ammo.
Fuuk it give the workers a raise. They earn it. Buck or 2 an hour or whatever... Ain't like the big wigs are gonna miss a yatch payment or settle for a offbrand of caviar. Or their bonuses affected.
We all know the cost will be passed down to the consumers like it always is with everything anyways. Users are gonna buy and have schit shipped like we all do anyways.
UPS FEDEX USPS and whatever other players are in the game...
