He likely ate better than I did as a youth. Probably didn't do a lot of intense manual labor. Photos 70 years later of peasant Civil War soldiers don't show 24-yr-olds looking like they were 48, and they likely had a much-rougher life from the beginning to the end than did Napoleon.
