Not much exciting going on for me. This heat is kinda keeping me pinned down. I do manage to get in a couple bike rides here and there. It fascinates me that these coyotes call the NOLA metro area home. These guys live on the river batture, It's barely 100 feet wide on average. I saw this one on my Sunday morning ride. Been exploring some of the isolated coulees in the Bonnet Carre spillway for fish. The Rio Grand Cichlid has found home here and is considered invasive. They are not to be released. This is a hybrid of some sort. A bluegill/warmouth I suspect. I decided to turn them into dinner. Fried with a little roasted pecan red wine sauce.

Red ears, greenies, gillies are damn good eating, though a bitch to fillet, even bigger ones like this. A bunch of work for a few bites, but everyone in the family wants some if I catch'm. Kent

No photos but demo of the deck on the bunkhouse was completed today. I hate nails... Prep for the new install tomorrow and a 6.5x55 shoot on Friday.

Rainy here today so I might as well add to the pics. My Dad's old M71 that I now have, tore down for a thorough cleaning. Not an exorbitant amount of parts, but they are fairly complicated on re-assembly. Breathed a sigh of relief when it was all back together working smooth and slick. A crapped up M94 I bought and completely disassembled, and brought back to life. First time for a M94 also but it was a piece of cake compared to the 71. Receiver parts all cleaned up and ready to go back together. Rifle turned out nice after lots of elbow grease and polishing. It was filthy inside and out. New Haven Conn. rifle. My model 141 tore down for cleaning. Bolt disassembled and cleaned up.
