I was always told a "midget" was proportioned normally, just smaller overall.
A "dwarf" is generally slightly mis-proportioned a bit.
I used to know a few "dwarfs" - generally the result of inbreeding.
Results of our (large) area being settled by 6 hispanic families.
The advent of the automobile kinda resulted in fewer dwarves, as the dating pool got larger. IMHO, of course.

so is Bridget the midget a dwarf or a midget?
rumor has it her dad is easily irritated by talk of such...

My midget story:

A few years ago I’m at a big charity event at a hotel, with lots of celebrities. I go to the bathroom. As I’m washing my hands, I hear 2 dudes mumbling inside the big handicapped toilet stall. Great, I think.

As I look in the mirror I see the stall door open behind me and out comes a BIG dude sort of steering Vern Troyer (the actor who played Mini me in Austin Powers) by the shoulders. Apparently his body guard helping him get up onto the full sized toilet. Both wearing tuxes. He looked a bit hammered.

That guy was tiny!

We've got one that used to be a regular here at the gun shop. Really nice guy. Haven't seen him in a few years but he's bought several guns here. Shortly after the Rossi Ranch Hand lever action "pistols" came out, he happened to show up as we were putting a couple in the cabinet. He said "Let me see that!" I handed him one and he threw it up to his shoulder like a rifle and it fit him PERFECTLY. He had a smile on his face a mile wide and couldn't get his credit card out fast enough!

Used to see the Roloffs around. Lived not far from them. The wife drove like a maniac. Cut me off once.

When I worked for AT&T there were two brothers who were 4 and a half feet tall. I guess that would qualify them as little people. There names were Troy Nd Roy. We all called them Tip and Ring. (telco slang)

I do beat hell out of the sides, especially up front. No complaints so far.

I grew up in the same community with a guy who is a midget/dwarf, whatever you want to call him. He was as stout as a bull, and could hold his own with anybody. He married a normal size woman, and they had a son that was the spitting image of his daddy, also a little fellow. Just like his daddy, he too is a stout person.
