Good FREE solution, I should ad. Saw an app that advertised as ‘free’ but then I discovered you actually have to pay for it to work effectively. Anybody know one? Used to get robo calls every once in a while, not a big deal, all of a sudden past few days my phone has been BLOWING UP with them. Over 10 a day. Driving me nuts. I have an I Phone. Thanks.

Also, I’d greatly prefer not to change my phone number.

Robo-Killer. It isn't free, but it's pretty cheap. And it WORKS.

If an incoming call is not in my contacts, I don’t answer. If a voice mail is not left, I block the number.

Easiest route on iPhone is under settings/phone scroll to silence unknown callers. Turn it on if you have called a # or get a call from persons in contacts the phone will ring, if it’s silenced it will go straight to voicemail and recents list. Then turn on call blocking and ID. All spam gets silenced automatically. Basically unless I know you it rings, if I don’t it doesn’t. 😁

Dial a number you know is not in service. Record the "BEEP- - -BIP- - - -BOOP" tone that comes before the recording that says "You have dialed a number that is not in service- - - -etc." Make that the "greeting" on your voice mail, followed by about 5 seconds of silence before your usual greeting plays. Most robo-callers are programmed to delete a non-working number from their database.

"Do not call list" is easiest solution. Free too. Wife and I are on it and all our calls stopped after about a month

Do Not Call is just about worthless. Companies simply ignore it, or spoof the number it seems like they are calling from, so reporting the violating call does no good.

I love Spam calls...

I have learned to cuss in 6-7 different languages.

I also ask very intimate questions about the caller's mother... it is most excellent fun.

If you are not actively engaging EVERY enemy you encounter... you are allowing another to fight for you... and that is cowardice... plain and simple.

Yep. Blocking numbers after they call doesn’t do schitt either, it seems. Just keeps jumping numbers.

This is an app you download on your phone, or a feature in the phone settings?

The so-called "Do Not Call" list is managed by the FTC. just search for Do Not Call and add your number to the list.

For all the good it will do.

Do you continue to pay for month after month, or, if after installing it and employing it for a while, will it get me back to ‘square one’ (low on the robo calling list)? The frequency of them just went through the roof, recently, for reasons unknown to me.

It seems essentially worthless.

I keep my cell in submarine mode. I.e. it is never turned on unless I want to use it. That occurs about once a month.

Robo Killer is an annual subscription. I forget how much, but it's literally "pennies a day" as they say. LINK

Free trial. Frankly, I wouldn't even have a cell phone without it. Just get it.

😆

Basically my iPhone is nothing more than a 64 gig iPod with internet access and phone.

There is a service offered by phone companies that callers have to dial1 after your number before it rings and states no solicitations allowed.
