OK what JB Weld are we talking about here? Is it the stuff in the little tubes or the stuff in the about 4 oz. jars (resin and hardener)?

The slow cure JB works really well for bedding. Liquid nails.....not so much.

Old school JB or Devcon Steel here. Yep, but have you guys seen the prices on Devcon 10110 lately??? Why is most of it coming from Malaysia too?? OK what JB Weld are we talking about here? Is it the stuff in the little tubes or the stuff in the about 4 oz. jars (resin and hardener)? The best one to use is the 15oz version. You can find it at any Ace hardware, Walmart or even some auto parts stores. They used to refer to it as JB Weld "industro". It is impregnated with steel and works very well as a bedding compound. It's usually about $16-$17.
I try to stick with the basics, they do so well. Nothing fancy mind you, just plain jane will get it done with style. You want to see an animal drop right now? Shoot him in the ear hole. BSA MAGA

Not a huge fan of JB weld personally, it shrinks as it cures. Not that it doesn’t work, I just think there are better options. I’ve never been dissatisfied with Brownholes Acraglass Gel.

I used Marine Tex one time on a Ruger # 1. Damned sticky stuff got onto and into everything else I did not want it in. Spent more time on cleanup than doing the job. But it makes a heck of a bedding surface. I always keep Acraglass gel on the bench.

OK what JB Weld are we talking about here? Is it the stuff in the little tubes or the stuff in the about 4 oz. jars (resin and hardener)? JB original cold weld is all I've ever used. Red and black tubes. The black is the steel, the red is the hardener. I just get it in the 2 oz pack. That doesn't sound like a lot but you can easily do a couple rifles with those small tubes and that's counting lug area, tang, and bottom metal if you wish. There might be better stuff out there but it has always worked for me both in doing a nice job initially and accuracy holding up over the long haul.

Thanks. That's the stuff I've used a lot but never as a bedding. In the past I've used accuglass and devcon10110
