Having decided I am not going to visit Africa to shoot the Cape Buffalo I bought this for, I am offering this scoped rifle and accessories for sale as a package.
The rifle is a Win model 70 stainless 6 digit that started life as a 7mm STW. I sold that barrel, purchased this take off barrel and factory sights and had Redneck on this site assemble everything and work over the action to insure that it worked flawlessly. There was a flaw in the original factory chamber, so Redneck shortened the barrel slightly to rechamber the burr out and rethread. The barrel now measures about 23.5" instead of the original 24". Redneck added a decelerator pad to the wood stock so LOP is about 13.25". Scope bases and rings are Leupold 1" detachable mounts with a friction adjustable matte finish Leupold 1.75-6 scope that has had an HD duplex reticle installed by Leupold when they still did that. The wood tock had the barrel channel enlarged to fit the larger barrel and was bedded by Redneck at the time he worked on the rifle. Factory sights on barrel. Floor plate shows wear since I have hunted the rifle but stock is pretty clean since I used a tupperware stock when hunting with this rifle. I already sold that stock. The only animal I have shot with this rifle was a nilgai in TX but have used it in MN. Accuracy with factory ammo was under an inch at 100 yards. I never shot any reloaded ammo in this rifle. The rifle with scope as it sits weighs 9# 11 oz.
The accessories include your choice of either RCBS or Redding two die set. I will sell which ever set the buyer does not want separately or both die sets can be included for an extra $50. Also included are 162 pieces of new unfired WW brass, 60 factory Winchester loaded rounds of 270 grain ammo in original yellow boxes, 17 factory loaded Federal rounds with 260 grain Accubond bullets and 3 empty cases in original factory box, and a total of 340 bullets. Bullets include 50 Barnes TTSX 250 grain, 50 Hornady SPRP 270 grain, 140 Hornady Interlock 300 grain RN and 100 Sierra Spitzer 300 grain bullets.
Package price is $2,500 shipped insured within the USA in two separate packages with the accessories to you and the rifle and scope as mounted in a hard plastic case to your FFL from an individual who is not an FFL holder.
