You could leave off the last 3 digits, and use "xxx" instead. If it is indeed a true short action, it will have a serial # greater than G1656883. Someone said you "confirmed" it is a short action. Is it written on the barrel? The earlier ones were. I have one made with a serial # of 166xxxx and it is a short action with "short action" stamped on the barrel. Yours looks like a nice rifle. I don’t see whether the price includes shipping or not. I’ve got other irons in the fire now but may kick myself for passing this one up. GLWTS.
