Thorogood makes that same boot in 6”, No? I wear a similar boot but a redwing…. I bought a new pair and had the older ones resoled with a vibram mini lug sole for hiking….. also have some whites smoke jumpers but unless I’m gonna be in super rough country I wear the redwings…. They are better on flatter ground.

Been wearing these for over 10 years. Most comfortable boot I've found, but Thorogoods aren't available here and ordering shoes is a no go for me.

Wesco... They'll make them anyway you want... more expensive than store bought up front... but cheaper in the long run as they last me 7-8 yrs and then they can be rebuilt if you want... WescoBoots.com

WescoBoots.com They make (or made) a great boot. Pretty much the equal of White's. I have a pair I bought in Salmon ID in 1967 and they are still good to go. They are nearing the end of the second set of soles, I even used them for dirt bike riding.

Side note: Wesco's like White's are heavy boots... It all depends on what kind of work you want them for.

my Wesco Packers are noticeably lighter than my White's Farmer/Ranchers... but still heavier than the store bought stuff...

The majority of my near 40 years of working in industry (many miles walked every day)……I wore “only” American made Red Wings. American made wasn’t an issue until around 2005 or so! memtb

If laces aren’t a requirement then I’ve had great comfort and durability from several pairs of Redbacks out of Australia.

On your plantar fasciitis : Maybe you're not as flat-footed as you think. (you may need an arch-supporting insole) If you have some level of arch and it's being forced flat, then that's how you start working on those tendons. I had both a foot doctor and a podiatrist recommend Powerstep insoles. (I use Pinnacle Maxx) Stay away from the Good Feet store - borderline scam
