Any sprint car racing fans ? This is Indiana sprint week. Lots of great racing. Last night was Gas city speedway, tonight Kokomo. Both short track dirt tracks.
30 minutes to hot laps.

Yep. Plymouth WI has a 360 winged sprint program, 1/3 mi clay.
On occasion they host 410 winged sprints. Once Tony Stewart and local hot shoe Bill Balog put on a driving show that was incredible.
Stewart won in the end, barely.
Enjoy the racing tonight WeimsnKs

Best racing that there is. When I was younger my wife and I spent every Saturday night at Knoxville (no wings, no mufflers). Used to write a column for Hawkeye Racing News. Also went to Modified and later Sprints at Jackson a lot. After parenthood, the visits became less frequent, and I gave up the column. Still follow the sprint news.

Always loved them. Was lucky enough to see slamming sammy making crazy hot laps at Bristol years back. Unbelievable speeds for such a small track

Outlaws are here in Pennsylvania last night and tonight for the Summer Nationals at Williams Grove Speedway, unfortunately I can’t make tonight’s show, but I will be at the High Limits sprint race at Grandview on Tuesday

I remember watching the super modifieds before they had wings. The promoter at the track and his wife supposedly held the Guinness world record for the longest tandem motorcyle jump. Dude was over 300 lbs and jumping motorcycles.

Sprints, modified, or even street stock…..dirt track is the best racing! memtb

From back in the late 60s. This is an uncle who married into the family, and was the best guy ever and one of the three most influential in my life. I lost one of the best things that ever happened to me the day he passed in October 2021. They always had one of the fastest cars on the track (they were actually running Super Modified on dirt) but drivers just couldn't keep it where it belonged. I was their biggest fan by far. I sure miss you, Tio.

This is all non wing shows. That is my preference.
I was born and raised in Anderson Indiana, they put 33 sprint cars on a 1/4 mi asphalt track for 500 laps. That is a show

We have them at Hendry county speedway, "the most southern dirt track in the country" I am a Tech inspector there I tell you some guys are freakin geniuses with the stuff they come up with.
RUMs are like woman in Stiletto heals, you know they are going to put you in the poor house, but that has never stopped anyone from pursuing them.

We had a track near where I grew up in Ohio. If I recall it was call the Mills Stream Race Track. They ran sprint cars there. We took a ride once to a place called Eldora Race track and watched what I recall was Outlaws Series. This would be back in the late 60s thru the Mid 70s. That was a long time ago.
Life can be rough on us dreamers.

Tony now owns Eldora, bought from Baltes in around 2004. A week ago Thursdays race paid $1,002,023 to win and Saturday's race paid $175,000. Tony has put a lot of capital back into dirt racing through the years.

Grew up and still near Hanover,PA. A few relatives were always into late models and now sprint car...might be a few in micros too. One cousin was track champ long ago at Lincoln (late models).
I dont go anymore and havent for awhile. Was excited to see Logan Schuchart win a million at Eldora tho!
