Season opener is 5 weeks from Friday!

Got a new pup this year, going to put him on as many birds as we can find.

Planning a couple long weekend trips out east, SoDak for phez opener, Nevada for chukar in Dec, Arizona for quail in Jan. Hunting locally for grouse until it cools down.

Anyone else been planning some trips? This is going to be a great year.

Weekly hunting in Georgia for about 4 months for quail with ducks and dove mixed in there as well. Will be letting a new 3 month old setter learn a lot along the way as well.

"BirdDog Bunkhouse" The Chef is 4 Stars and the company off the star chart. He will be posting on here soon, if he hasn't already. A hard to beat deal. These are previous rates, but it is still reasonable for what you get. His repeat customers say more than a little.

I hope to hunt at Duxdog’s place in SD about Nov 14 for 5 days, though I may have to rest every other, and if Battue decides to slum for a day, I may hook up with him and his spaniels. The trouble with getting two Clint Eastwood types together though, is you may hear a lot of this in a quiet, husky voice: “well, I’ve had enough of that.”

Then in Dec, I’ve got a motley collection of HS and college friends that get together annually for more pheasants in the Chamberlain area. Of course when referring to HS and the college years from 55 years ago, the key issue, you know, is that they remember to come.

I don’t know who coined the expression, “trying to heard cats”. But that sums up multiple of our septuagenarians’ activities. 😳😉

Warning!!!!!….spending time at the Bunkhouse is dangerous. Next thing you know you are asking for your fall mail to be forwarded to a box at the post office.

Ha great plans. I'll do the grouse opener here in SD and will get out after pheasants regularly until the season closes due to weather or the calendar.

That's kinda how it's turned out for you Butch smile Glad it's worked out so well for you and your cute Cockers!

I'm hunting from my Bunkhouse FORTY days this fall. I have a full house except for a couple spots. If anyone wants to join us send me a PM for the details.

A week in North Dakota with my son chasing rooster and sharptails, then a week in Montana for the same plus huns. Live in N. Nevada so chuckars are on the menu all the time.
