The Remarms website list the twist 1:8. I see it listed other places 1:12

https://www.remarms.com/rifles/bolt-action/model-700/model-700-sps-stainless

Which is correct?

They .223's from Remington and Winchester have historically, often been faster twist than say a .22-250 - so I would guess that it's 1:8.

Good Luck....Call or email and ask them directly.

On new rifles I would guess 8. Older rifles 12 was the norm.

Maybe a few select models could be had in 9 just a few years back.

My 700 223 in 1:8 twist I got here on the fire shoots very very well with both 75 gr Horn and 55 grain whatever you want. Very very pleased!

Appreciate that. Still $100 or so below an SS Tikka.

I wonder if they stuck with that rough finish on the SPS or went to a smoother metal finish?

The gunbroker add states 1:12 twist.

I called RemArms and was told that the new rifles had 5r barrels and were 1:8 twist.

I want one but hate to order one without confirming the twist rate.

Some people post their own old info on Gunbroker. Call THAT gun store and ask what’s on the box.

I have asked Bud's and a couple of the gunbroker places and was told that they do not have access to the firearm. I should try to call a small shop that has one in stock.
