This book came out in Jan, 2023. It is an Earl Lee Swagger novel and in it Swagger is pulled out of the Marines for temporary duty in Europe. The D-Day invasion has run into serious delays in the hedgerows of France. The bocage. The holdup is in part due to an aggressive sniping effort by the Germans which is effective and demoralizing to the GI's. Who better to take on a sniper problem than a sniper? Thus Swagger is called since he has already survived three Pacific island engagements.

There is Soviet involvement, and difficulties dealing with the various French groups who are at odds. Is there a spy at headquarters who is giving information to the Nazis? Or to the Soviets? Or both?
How are the snipers to be dealt with?

It's an interesting book and was a good read. 462 pages. The acknowledgments are interesting, too.
