My wife and I made our first trip to Lake Ontario and were able to fish with my son and daughter-in-law who have been going for several years. The wind conditions for his boat were iffy Friday evening and Saturday morning but we fished Thursday evening, Friday morning, Saturday morning and evening and Sunday morning for about an hour 1/2. Saturday morning was really unfishable but we went anyway. In total we had 23-25 kings, a Coho, and 14-15 lake trout. The king size was down from Matt's trip last year with the biggest at 18 pounds. My wife caught a 16. We had several doubles and triples and one quadruple.

Our wives were laughing and having a ball. Been married for 35 years and I never heard her say that she was impressed with the fishing or the fish. She absolutely loved hearing the drag go and would get pissed when the fish ripped 150 feet of line that she just reeled in.

What an incredible fishery and it will be hard to fish back here in Maine.

I do a ton of lake trout fishing here. Never seen anything like out there but I'm not widely traveled. In less than 30 minutes Sunday morning, we had a 12, 13, and 15 pounder plus one that we didn't weigh that was in the 12-13 pound range. They are fun to catch but anticlimactic after the kings..

I usually wait until they’re in the creeks or rivers. They are a blast to catch. Always fun running after them to get one.
