The same as for the previous 33 years, and my only hunting rifle….my Win. Model 70, 375 AI. Unless, I decide to use my handgun. I guess it will depend on the terrain that we’re hunting in! memtb

Second time I haven’t had a big game tag in my pocket since I was 16yo. (54 now)! First year was 1993 when I was in the police academy!
If I had a tag this year, I would be carrying my 1970’s vintage REM 700 BDL with a 24” SS barrel in 30-06 shooting 150gr. Barnes TTSX over 52gr. IMR-4064! It weighs 8lbs. on the dot with a Leupold VX3 4.5-14x40!

For years it was a tricked out Rem model 700 in 340 Wby. Loved it. But now it would be a semi-custom 284 Win with a 140-gr TTSX at 3150 fps and I’d be comfortable with any reasonable shot.

Up to 350 yards or so, a tricked out RAR in 5.56 with a 2.3-15x56 Swarovski with turrets
300-600 yards a Browning A Bolt .270Win with the same scope as above.
Walking around/short range is a Winchester 94, in 30WCF with a Burris FFIII red dot on Turnbull bases. This is my favorite...

Going to shoot 2 cow elk with a Ruger 6mm, either 90 grain accubonds or etips.
Have 2 bull tags as well, either 7-08 with 140 accubonds or 7 RM with 160 accubonds.

Kimber Montana in 338 Federal or 280AI for my trip this fall to MT. No telling what I’ll be carrying while at home in TX.

Same old 1968 Sako/Bofors 338. Gets the job done and so far, no complaints from the elk.

I've shot two with the 100 grain Speer SPBT from a 6mm. Both only from about 100 yards. Worked just as good as anything else...
