Well, I have to eat some crow cuisine. A couple weeks back in the "dogs in the house" thread, I believe I posted more than once about never having, nor wanting pets in the house.

Then this happened this past weekend.

Meet Maggie. She is a 3 month old Corgi that one of our daughters friends decided she couldn't take care of along with her other dog and a new baby. Being a working single mother, she felt it would be best.

We (my wife) said we would take her for a week long trial so our daughter brought her to the cabin this weekend. Let's just say, she's not going anywhere and we now have a dog living in the house.

I guess. lol

That is a CUTE and expensive dog! You'll find the Corgi makes an excellent pet and companion and is considerably smarter than the average dog....I woulda had to keep that one too. You'll be glad you did.

Spendy is right! We paid 1/3 of what the gal paid for her.

It's good to know they are an intelligent breed. I'm going to have to do some research on them.

I think so too. So far she has been incredibly mellow and seems to have adapted to us almost immediately.

Ingwe,

The wife got Maggie a new collar and when we took her old one off and put the new one on, it's almost like her whole disposition changed. She started bouncing around and was happy as heck. It was almost like she felt "oh these ARE my people now."

It was pretty cute.

Thanks man!

I have a feeling this will be one of those "special" dogs that we are lucky enough to share part of our lives with.

That's exactly what I was thinking.

My cowdog is a Corgi Border Collie cross and one of the smartest dogs I have had in 65 years.
Corgi's are very loyal and smart so you have a family friend for years to come. Congrats on an accident find!
