This is a wide meplat, hardcast SWC perfect for hunting typical North American game.

This .45 Colt load is quite accurate and John Linebaugh found a Goldilocks load with this style. Though he is not the first, he is certainly a pioneer in the handgun hunting field and deserves credit where credit is due. This is a great all around hunting load. Easy on guns, and the shooter alike.

They are popular for sure. There are a couple customers who are shooting competitions with their Freedom Arms Model 97s using this ammo. One is also using the .44 Special. I definitely appreciate their comments.

This is without a doubt my favorite .45 Colt load. Heavy enough to punch all the way through just about any animal that walks in N. America, save for the very largest, but not so heavy a load as to be punishing. John Linebaugh's writings and findings were spot on. He, and those who have used loads like this in the field, definitely knew what they were doing.
