Welcome to the fire. As you've no doubt already figured out, the fire has a different flavor than single action forums. Over there, I've never put anyone on ignore. On here, I've pulled up threads that had most on ignore. That said, there are also some great members on here too. And many of the same members. This forum is also a bit more lively and diverse.
AFTER SHOOTING A LOT OF STUFF IN AFRICA WITH A VARIETY OF BULLETS I GOT MY FRIEND PETER PI AT COR-BON TO MAKE HIS RN PENETRATORS WITH A WFN STYLE FP, AND @ 305grs vs THE RN 320grs. EVERY BATCH I GOT WAS SLIGHTLY DIFFERENT FROM THE PRIOR BATCH. AFRICA CONVINCED ME THAT BULLET INTEGRITY WAS A NECESSITY SO EVEN TODAY, WHEN I JUST SHOOT DEER AND HOGS, IT IS HARD FOR ME TO GET INTO EXPANDING BULLETS. DO NOT HAVE TIME THIS MORNING BUT LATER WHEN I HAVE TIME I WILL BE MORE SPECIFIC ON MY BULLET JOURNEY THRU AFRICA.
45MAN is a very knowledgeable hand gunner who has multiple African safari's under his belt, all with six guns, most often Freedom Arms six guns. He's quite humble about his experiences but everything from Elephant on down has fell to his deadly aim, he's the real deal. We will all learn something from him if we listen closely.
Dick
Gentlemen,
I suggest we show some manners and consideration. The new member is not of the same generation as many here who have responded. I know my father who now is in his 80s has killed incredible numbers of big game in the Rockies (primarily big bull elk and mule deer) and was a hunter that quite a few men sought his advice for years and tried to get him to let them tag along on hunts. Most could not physically keep up on the rare times he allowed one to tag along.
That said, now in his 80s he has difficulty using a computer. Does not own a cell phone at all. He has not kept up with how rapidly everything has evolved. It does not diminish his skill as a hunter when he was in his prime.
Both JWP and Dick, (Idaho 1945) who are quite accomplished handgun hunters (still waiting on a book from Idaho 1945) have vouched for 45 Man. When these two say that he is the real deal, their word is good enough for me.
