I have a box of .357 Action powder coated SWC from Missouri Bullet Company that I'm planning to load. I've used this exact bullet in bare lead/no powder coating for decades but have no experience with the powder coated version. Can I use the same recipe? This is just a steel smacking range load.

Thanks.

Yup, just won’t be as much smoke. Been a customer of MBC for a long time.

I just got some 158 swc with the Hi Tek coating. I am thinking of 6 or 6.5 gr unique for about 1000 fps? Any pet unique loads (357 mag) around 1000-1100 fps?

I shot about 100 of them at steel. 6.8 grains of Unique. Nice accurate and, like a couple posters said, cleaner. I like them.

Not 158gr, so its slightly off-topic, but if you’re looking for fire-breathers, here’s an entertainment video. I may know a guy that’s duplicated this load and confirms the results.

Buffalo Bore load duplication.

That's a monster killer load there. I've got some 193 gr, WFN gas checked hard cast. I have loaded them with 14.0 gr. H110 before. Didn't see any pressure signs.

Why do I have to press 1, for English?

6 gr of unique didn't do good. 2.0 inches compared to factory at 1.2 in. Ill up it to 6.5 and see how it works.

I was going to order another couple boxes of the Missouri Bullet bullet company .357 150 grain action powder coated swc, but now all they have are the "grooveless" version. The ones I've been shooting have grooves. They're just powder coated instead of lubed.

Anyone messed with the grooveless version? I've been loading the grooved version over 6.8 grains of Unique.

I get mine here. They're just a few miles from my house and I pick them up in person. Good people!

They should be no problem.

The coating is slick and it leaves no or very little mess to clean up.

Ok. I hope they shoot the same. I hate tinkering with loads.

Thanks. With the free shipping they're a little cheaper. Will remember that.
