It shoots a 10 grain heavier bullet 250 fps faster! I'm hunting with my 270 Winchester this year
Good bullets properly placed always work, but not everyone knows what good bullets are, or can reliably place them in the field

It's almost 100 years old! It can't possibly be any good

I am continually astounded at how quickly people make up their minds on little evidence or none at all. Jack O'Connor

I thought this was going to be about the 6.5 PRC.

Nothing wrong with a 270 Winchester despite what some say.
I may not be smart but I can lift heavy objects
I have a shotgun so I have no need for a 30-06.....

With the sample size of one each, I found the PRC to be more accurate than the Winchester. The Winchester was MOA for me, perhaps a little less. The PRC was half that. Three round groups. Winchester was a CZ 550 Sonoran, and the PRC is a Cooper. I sold the Winchester.

Depending on brass, 6.5 PRC is 2% to 7% smaller case capacity than the .270 Win. There is no replacement for displacement. What is new is old and what is old is new. The "PRC's" are simply the "WSM's" of the 2020's... <flame suit on>

I try to stick with the basics, they do so well. Nothing fancy mind you, just plain jane will get it done with style. You want to see an animal drop right now? Shoot him in the ear hole. BSA MAGA
