Ive been using a couple brands, its hot here, using them with running shoes.

Darn tough
Smartwool
Farm to Feet
Point6

The thin, light cushion style..

Darn tough and FtoF seem to holding up the best.

Ditto. I have 4 pair of the light version spread across 3,000 miles and all going strong.
Not sure when they'll ever wear out.

I like DarnTough first, and SmartWool is a close second.

for over the calf I like Fits wader socks. They stay up better than Smartwool.

Darn Tough

Midweight Crew for every day wear.
Boot Length, full cushion.

Call them, they will answer ALL your questions.

Lifetime guarantee. I have 10 pair for every day wear. I have 4 pair for hunting. You can wear them for days on end before washing, if preferred.

I'm not a sock connoisseur, but I understand they can make or break an outing so I need research some of the suggestions I'm reading in this thread.

To throw in my own two cents, I've been using the semi-economical Under Armor socks for my hunting trips. How their insulating qualities and comfort are compared to what has been mentioned above I cannot say. I can say though, that when I pull them up first thing in the morning, they don't budge until I take them off at the end of the day.
