Ditto. I have 4 pair of the light version spread across 3,000 miles and all going strong. Not sure when they'll ever wear out.

Dahlgren alpaca wool are the best Ive used, not a fan of darn tough fo me personally, Kuiu has also been really good!

i like to wear 2 pairs of socks cotton on my skin secord pair wool always every day been doing this 40- 50 years i worked outside all my life in Northern Minnesota , now retired still wear 2 pairs every day outside ,a person gets a little cushion with 2 pairs.

I'm not a sock connoisseur, but I understand they can make or break an outing so I need research some of the suggestions I'm reading in this thread.
To throw in my own two cents, I've been using the semi-economical Under Armor socks for my hunting trips. How their insulating qualities and comfort are compared to what has been mentioned above I cannot say. I can say though, that when I pull them up first thing in the morning, they don't budge until I take them off at the end of the day.
