I keep running across used 99's for sale that have the stock pads sanded off so the stock looks ugly like a 99E only with walnut instead of the ugly yellow wood. These are hunt that I would otherwise have bought but I can't stand that look. I don't know why so many guys did that to these guns

I think it's just a case of the stocks were beat to heck and the owners sanded until all the dents were gone.

I'd prefer some dents.

I hardly ever encounter 99s in the flesh, with or without sanded panels. Trade you problems? 🤷‍♂️😂

Varieties of 99H have no cheek pads, panels or whatever you want to call them.

I've ran into an EG and an F recently with the panels sanded off. It's a deal breaker for me because it never is reflected in the price
