I’ve never owned any . But I wouldn’t own any now either .

Anyway, buy the cheapest ones. What’s their warranty?

Strictly Nocona for me.

I still have my 1982 Elephant’s & they look just like new. Those boots have scooted across a few sawdust floors.

Didn't Tony Lama sell out years ago to a Japanese company? The same company that bought Ace-Me, Justin, and Nocona. I can't remember the year but it was quite some time ago.

FWIW.

I've worn their full quill Ostrich for 30 years pounding out miles per day seeing 50 -70 patients a day in a busy medical eye care center.

I went to them because with leather shoes with no ankle support I had sweaty feet. The extra ankle support ended that. I bought them somewhat tight on my feet and the first few days would be somewhat uncomfortable but the leather eventually stretches to fit your feet like a fine pair of gloves. That is what results in less foot muscle action required for one's support and thus no sweaty, tired, hurting, worn out feet after a long day.

If you get the boots too tight, most boot shops have leather treatments that can easily be used to allow the leather to stretch to fit your feet more perfectly.

The south Texas cowboys and ranchers kids always bought boots tight, took them home and soaked them in the morning before pulling them on and wearing them all day until they dried on their feet - for a reason.

Tony Lama used to be top of the line factory made boots. They had a distinctive design on the vamp where it was sewn to the top in front. Kind of a fleur-de-lis design. They had an outlet store in Juarez where you could buy seconds. Or maybe it was in El Paso.

I like them, great quality, but with very high arches they don't fit me well. Justins and Nocona for me.

+1

I have a friend who absolutely swears by the Tony Lama thick quill ostrich. But, they just don't fit me right.

Back in the 70's and even 80's, you bet! I barely wear cowboy boots anymore. And when i do, I wear my dads that he left me. I doubt his are Tony Lama's. I'll check in the morning though!
