Picking nits here, but does anyone else get annoyed by the term 'reload'. I handload 95% of the centerfire ammo I shoot. Yes the brass gets reused, but referring to my ammo as reloads always gives me the feeling people view them along the same lines of recycled or reclaimed.

plinking is reloading. Handloading is more along the lines as, what I call, precision loading.

I don't really care what you call it. We all know what guys are talking about when they are brought up. If it annoys you, you get upset too easy.

If reloading is reusing the brass to make new shells what does ridiculous mean?
I'm confused...

I am continually astounded at how quickly people make up their minds on little evidence or none at all.

LOL, spend more time doing whichever you call it and less time hair splitting, or splitting hairs…whichever you prefer. I never worried what I called it, or what someone else calls it. I’ve used both and never differentiated them in my mind. I just know it saves me money, and gives me satisfaction and pride in crafting my own ammo. I’m sure it’s absolutely deplorable either way. 😎

Reloading or handloading, whichever, as long as you're not asking "what grain bullet heads" to use. grin

When l call a gunshop near me l have to specify reloading bullets, not just bullets, other wise they assume factory ammunition. 🙄

I usually say handloading, and bullet head is a strange term. I just say bullet.

Why do I have to press 1, for English?

If it’s new brass, you’re handloading. If it’s old brass, you’re hand reloading.

I've seen "bullet heads" used on this very site.

I have to admit, "reloading" annoys me too. I am "handloading" to a positively silly degree of obsession.
And I have a fairly thick skin.

I reload spent brass, I sometimes handload each piece of brass individually, weigh the powder charge, weigh each bullets and so on, other times the machine drops the powder not me so that is not really complete handloading, regardless it doesn't bother me which one people use. I believe Elmer Keith called it reloading and that is good enough for me.

Yeah, I've seen "head" used as a term for bullet. It seems mostly prevalent when you hear big-city cops trying to talk about guns like they know something about them. Same with the term "bullet casing" which I saw just last night in a news article about a shooting. Goes right along with the oft seen example of leftist political cartoonists showing a whole dame cartridge flying out of a gun instead of just the bullet.
