Glad they were rescued. The PJ's are amazing. I don't know why the hunters would climb down the upper part of that face. Thank goodness they had a SAT phone.
You're in good hands when a PJ shows up. Those guys train hard. Somehow had an Airforce PJ at black rapids northern warfare training center, he rucked the fkn doors off everyone, as if the mountains were flat ground......
Right on! I drive by there every year on my way to moose camp, where exactly is the training held, right by the camp or deeper into the mountains?
People may laugh at the two dudes but they got caught on one of the walls of the Magic Kingdom. People have packed it in and left the outfitter with a 14000 dollar deposit rather than finishing that 1.5 mile walk on that knife edge.
Is this it? I hunted the Tonsina CUA in 2015, awesome country:
Sakoluvr: I am with you on trying to understand the "reason" those two "Hunters" were where they were??? Attention whores? Dumb? Lost in a cloud for a while? I don't know the first thing about Dall Sheep Hunting but I am guessing not many Sheep would be hanging out on that cliff? WTH? And I also am grateful for the rescuers that were put at risk in this "situation". Hold into the wind VarmintGuy
Joel/Ak: I would have to surmise that "Sheep" would NOT find anything to eat on that sheer rock cliff - and then, whenst those nimrod Hunters were to shoot one if for some reason it were there it would cascade down that sheer cliff and be "unretrieveable". I have been on dozens of Mt. Goat Hunts in Alaska, taxington and in Montana to know NOT to Hunt on terrain where it would be impossible and/or extremely dangerous to retrieve kill't game animals. I'll ask again, of you, or anyone, what in the hell were they doing on that sheer cliff? Hold into the wind VarmintGuy

I have been in places where I was convinced I had some rams cornered. Every time they scooted out without even breaking a sweat. I think they can stick to vertical glass.

People are idiots. Been in alot of situations where we had to walk away from the shot. Ravines, etc just pop up....lol can't get the animal, it lives another day.
