What's the story with Jewell triggers' availability?
I need to replace an older one which got slightly "blowed up" when a primer pierced. Their web site says "suspended" .. not that it's not found, just "suspsended." Nobody has Jewell stuff in stock. Have they closed shop? Reorganizing? What's the story?
I like TriggerTech too but I need something in the 2-4 ounce range with a bottom bolt release. The Diamond is only available for clone actions that don't require the bottom release.

I had heard that he sold the business 20-ish years ago so in theory his passing shouldn't change the business. That assumes I heard right though and I'm not certain of that.

By the way, in case you missed it, Jeremiah was a bullfrog.

Does this have anything to do with the lawsuit that Mossberg filed against Timney some years back ? Some Jewell patents were involved.

Might be this one Charlie. https://insight.rpxcorp.com/litigation_documents/1967491Seems Jewell, Brownells and Bedrock were sued for labeling trigger assemblies with an expired patent number for 6 years. If I read it right they were looking for 500.00 + in damages per trigger sold. Federal court.

Arnold passed late in 2022. Arnold's son has been running the business for close to 20 years. They recently had supply issues when an outside contractor could no longer supply some of the internal parts. They will still service existing triggers, provided they have the parts. I believe the website domain has simply expired. FWIW, I just received a couple of new ones. Spy reports say that Jewell will have a new owner announced very soon. Good shootin' -Al

I have one or maybe two Jewells I am not in love with. Feel free to contact me if you're looking to rehome them. I have a fair number of parts and do some tweaks on them. -Al

Listen to Al, his post is correct. Brian Jewell took over the business several years ago.

All my rifles have Jewell triggers in them. I was only going to buy one to try and ended up replacing all with Jewell. I find them very hard to beat. I tried a Timney and was not impressed. My Jewell is externally adjustable with an .050 allen wrench.

The story I got, and it's probably just that, is the two guys who made the springs in the triggers were in their 80's and retired. Somehow, they were the only ones with the technique.

I hate hear that. I always liked their two stage AR-15 triggers. Similar to a Milazzo/Krieger design.

Run it up, until you blow it up, then back it down a bit.
