If you could get a taller elevation turret with zero stop and locking turret it would be the only scope I would use.

They had some problems the first couple-three years of production, which was quite a while ago, but have been excellent since.

John,

Somewhere along the line, I read that meopta had supplied the glass for some of these early scopes. I thought that it came from you, but perhaps I am not remembering correctly. Obviously now they are all Japanese glass. Do you recall?

Thanks.

Can't recall ever hearing that.

I think Kenton industries makes a turret for these scopes not sure about zero stop.

I have a couple of the 3-9x40 versions and like them lot. Thinking about getting another, maybe with the mil dot reticle.

I have two 3-9's with the green post awaiting me in Texas. First time buyer. One will go on my 375 H&H M70 and head to Alaska for brown bear next spring. A nice light durable piece from what I have read. I believe it is their only 1" scope anymore. I spoke with a rep at Black Sheep Sporting Goods (CDA) and he commented that the owner of the company only uses the post reticle.

They’re 30mm tubes. I wish they made a 1” version, that’s the only thing I’d change. I’ve got 2 of the 1-4 with #4 reticles. Great glass, dead accurate adjustments, and tough. Their #4 is actually much different and better than what their website and scope boxes show. It’s the best reticle I’ve found for woods hunting.

The 3-9 I have has the mil dot reticle and is a 1” tube. Lightweight, clear, holds zero and the green dot glowing in the center is very easy to pick up. I really like mine.

The 3-9 is a 1" scope as noted above.

My 3-0 has a duplex type reticle with dot. I like it a lot. The dot and reticle is fine enough for precision shooting, but shows up well enough in dim light for a shot.

This gun has been shown before, a Pre-64 .358 Win. Scope in Signature rings to adjust for the optical center of the scope, as the rifle wasn't drilled absolutely true. Yep, that happened even with pre-64's.

Do these have a decent eye box and eye relief?

Also, what color triangle do you prefer?

Eye box and relief are great for me and that seems to be the consensus.

1” tube on the 3x9 you say?!? No fair!

The ER in their specs seems short. But in actuality, ER seems very adequate. My good bud has a 1-4 with post reticle on his M-70 .416 Rem. To me that reticle is about optimal for a DG big boomer. ER is ok on that one.

My scope has the green dot, his an orange triangle.

To me color is a personal preference.
