Nice pistol, trout nut.
Model 15’s are a fave. Been keeping an eye out for a good deal on a 2”. Prices keep getting higher though. Lol.

Very cool. I'm a big 15 fan, myself. I had a chance at a really nice snubby like yours about ten years ago, but passed it up. I've always regretted it. Here's my dash 3. And with its original grips on.

Beautiful old school pistola, troutnut. I've got a 4-in 15-3. I was hunting The Aviator style when I got it.

Very nice find. It's interesting that the gun obviously came with the big target stocks. Did you have a look inside if there is a serial number matching the gun. These stocks with the diamond around the screw were manufactured and original handfitted to the particular gun during/at the end of the production process just before the gun underwent the blueing process.

Except for the trigger shoe, which can present problems on a carry gun, I once used a 2” Model 15, stocked just like that one, to take $20 from (and educate) a novice, but overconfident, bullseye shooter who believed and loudly proclaimed that a 6” revolver would always outshoot a 2” revolver. He accepted my bet. Easy money. The only real difference between the 6” Model 14 Target Masterpiece I used in bullseye competition then and the 2” Model 15 Combat Masterpiece I carried at the time was the length of the barrel.
Every day’s an adventure.

I doubt I ever carry this one but either way the trigger shoe is coming off. I will shoot it both ways. If anything the trigger shoe might find it's way on my 17-2 22lr.

I suggest simply selling that “collector” trigger shoe to someone who doesn’t know any better, or even care. With good technique and ammo, your 2” Model 15 will shoot far better than most folks expect. Enjoy it. For a time, I even used a 2” Model 15 in Steel Challenge competition, and I didn’t come in last, either. But, it certainly was a hoot, particularly when I missed shots and had to resort to the two spare rounds I’d held in my lips. Laughs galore, but it made for excellent practice.

Kinda like me shooting a true pair with my Henry SS .410. Truth be told the one trap is a bit slow since it has to cock the arm after the target is called for instead of just chucking it. Great fun anyway. Just don’t be standing behind me when I pop that thing open….. it really launches ‘em.

That is a very nice pistol. I think a 3 inch Model 15 would be a wonderful thing.

The Model 15 is a great little gun. This one is a little tack driver and has accounted for no small number of rabbits over the years. Loaded with some modern, more potent loads, it really does a good job as an all around revolver for those who don't want a large bore. From lightweight wadcutters to poly 158 grain SWCs at 1115 FPS from its 4" barrel, the Combat Masterpiece is a handy little gun.
