I recently picked up a Savage Model 99 with a Weaver post reticle scope in a Stith mount. I've never sighted in a post reticle scope before. Should
my aiming point be the top of the post, or where the crosshair crosses the post?

my aiming point be the top of the post, or where the crosshair crosses the post? Best hunting scope reticle. I sight in using top of post, about 2" high at 100, zeroed at 200.

I had a couple of Redfield’s with a post and crosshair. I really liked them.

Aiming carefully, with deliberation, I love it...but snapshooting under pressure...my eye or my brain or years of crosshair intersection conditioning gets confused with the horizontal crosshair. I could do without the horizontal crosshair and just use the post.
Well this is a fine pickle we're in, should'a listened to Joe McCarthy and George Orwell I guess.
