Dang, Terry, that’s a beauty!
That stag really goes with the color-cased.
What fresh Hell is this?

That's a sexy old-school snub! Very nice revolvers in this entire thread. They just don't make them like that anymore!

My 15-5. Just fun to shoot! Gulp! I was gonna post a picture of my old M15, forget that. I just want to stare at this one and drool.

That stag really goes with the color-cased. Indeed. Beautiful piece.

Looks like high quality piece, but from practical side for not a lot more one can find pre-lock .357 K-frame like model 19 or 13. One in top shape w/o worthless box, papers will cost $800 to $900, worth extra cost. Short barrel will usually come as RB with slimm grip pannels which are easier to conceal.👍👍

I nearly traded my 15 (plus boot) for a 19 a couple times. Glad I didn’t. Not to say I’ll never own a 19.
I’ve just not found the 15 lacking for what I do with it.
158 RF’s at 830fps beats some 30 year old Winchester 158 RN’s I had by 200fps, with a better bullet. It ain’t exactly your Daddy’s .38….
I’ll grab some of Mackay’s loads if I ever need to tote it in grizzly country!🤣

All of these 15s are prettier than mine. Still one of the better ways I've spent my over the years.

I just inherited a nice 15-3 and can't get the thought of elk/stag grips out of my mind.

My 15-5. Just fun to shoot! Dang! I remember years back when CDNN was closing about a bunch of Heritage models that were not strong sellers for Smith. Really wish I would have been able to pick a few different variations up. Now a number of them are pretty sought after. Your CCH one here is a very pretty gun. I would enjoy shooting and carrying the heck out of it! Cheers!

I guess I'm supposed to treat it like a collector, but nah, I want to give the next guy that owns it something to bitch about. 🤣

Thanks for the comments everyone, but I need to clarify a bit. My Dad sold his house and is downsizing to an apartment in a retirement facility. He can't take his guns with him and his shooting days are over. My siblings and nieces/nephews all picked a couple to take. I feel like I took more than my share, but wanted them to stay in the family. This is what I brought home (with the 3 handguns being my primary interest):

Exchipy: I was "first one through the door" at the VERY well attended "Hunters Rendezvous Sale" at Shedhorn Sports in Ennis, Montana last Friday (August 25th). Once inside there was a MINT and tight as a tick Smith & Wesson Model 15-3 there for sale - the price was $340.00 and I nearly tore my rear pants pocket off getting my wallet out to buy it! But alas when one of the countermen opened the locked glass display wall case and upon close inspection I saw why it was so cheap. It had some through the bluing erosion for 3/4" of an inch on both sides of the barrels muzzle. This was the ONLY flaw on this revolver. I mean the rest of the bluing and grips were perfect and again the lock-up (detonation timing) was perfect! The gun was as new except for the muzzles finish erosion. I have seen this before in guns that were held to the temple and suicide occurred causing the bluing to be etched by blood splatter. I looked at the pistol twice and nearly bought it anyway. This Model 15-3 S&W with 4" barrel would be perfect for you to "customize" with one of those puzzlingly heavy barrels you like. The shops phone number is 406-682-4210 (no sales tax in Montana). Hold into the wind VarmintGuy
