I just noticed after my first box of shells thru my citori hunter, the top lever does not return to center of barrel rib/grip....
It cants to the right side of the safety......gun still functions......
Do i have a problem with this factory new gun?

Means it's new. When it's in the center, it's wore out. You got about 80,000 rounds before it becomes an issue. Browning citoris are bank vaults.

Means it's new. When it's in the center, it's wore out. Well, not 'wore out', just needs a new locking plate and maybe some dressing of the barrel lugs.. It's a job for the Browning service center in Arnold, MO., or one of the other certified repair shops in the US. You got about 80,000 rounds before it becomes an issue. Browning citoris are bank vaults. I've never been much of a Browning fan, but you're spot on re: Citori's.. They're very good shotguns with excellent internals.. Just a tip: When (not if) you begin to experience some misfires, and the firing pins are ok and the recesses are clean, have a 'smith partially disassemble it to get at the cocking rods.. I bet he/she will find the misfiring culprit will be a very stiff-moving and possibly partially bent cocking rod. When that happens, the hammer is missing out on inertia and a misfire will result.. When I would get that malady I'd remove both cocking rods, ensure their recesses were clean, check for any bends, polish the back side of the head where it slides on the hammer and reinstall... Problem solved..

Older gentlemen I used to shoot skeet with bought a citori back in the late 70s. A 12 skeet model. He still shoots it today. Can't remember which barrel, but the action normally pops open after the shot. He thinks the gun has at least 100,000 shots through it. Pretty unbelievable. That's literally a truckload of shotgun shells. Made me a believer in browning for high volume.

Congrats on your lifetime investment. Hard to fault either Brownings or Berettas for their reliability, and at a cost most can swing.
What fresh Hell is this?

Got a Browning Ultra Sporter in Dad's safe that was rebuilt at about ~120,000 rounds and then shot for at least another 35,000 after so far. They really are generational shotguns and about the only time I'd "prefer" a Browning over others - assuming not going high end.

The current Custom O/U bargain is a used Browning B25. They are currently out of favor, but are completely hand built and fitted to the highest standard.

Most people will be in financial distress buying and using enough shells to wear out a Citori period..mb
