So…I just couldn’t tolerate the Kimber tan stock color on my .257 Bob, and I am too cheap to buy another stock for it when the paint stuff was way cheaper. So here’s my first venture into the stock painting world. Used 5 coats of matte clear, with a bit of scuffing with scotch brite pad for finish. Still a bit shiny for my own total satisfaction, so I might scuff a bit harder and re-coat again, but the texture is nice and “grippy”. I’m thinking I’ll wait and see if it bothers me in the woods. Whole process went better than I thought it would.

Well done. I've always had good luck using randomly cut/torn pieces of sea sponge.

Thanks guys! I did the olive green base with an old mesh storage bag for my boat cover strategically cinched up on it, followed by the sea sponges. It’s a rednecky way to do it, but rednecky is what I are. 😁

Those who are always shooting off at the mouth usually aren't shooting straight. What do you get when you cross a polar bear with a seal? A polar bear. Did you hear they arrested the devil? Yeah, they got him on possession. www.wvcdl.org

Thanks fellas! The more I look at it, the more it blends into my firewood. Guess that ain’t a bad thing! Might get ambitious and do my other one, but switch up a little on the color sequence and see what happens.

I try to stick with the basics, they do so well. Nothing fancy mind you, just plain jane will get it done with style. You want to see an animal drop right now? Shoot him in the ear hole. BSA MAGA

Looks great! What load are you shooting? Just got one about 6 weeks ago and have only fored a few left over Rem factory loads so far.

Thanks guys!
Chumley,
I have a load of 44.5 grains of H414 under a 100 grain TTSX that my Ruger 77 tanger shoots well…and seems to shoot alright in this one too, though not quite as good as the Ruger.

Knocked it out of the ball park ! Nice job bud
All of them do something better than the 30-06, but none of them do everything as well.
