Was fortunate on two 99 purchases, one 243 and the other 308. I don’t reload and was wondering what factory ammunition you have found that works for you?

Stay away from hot or high-performance factory loads as it may cause the action to be sticky on extraction.

For the most part regular old green box Remington's, white box Winchesters and blue box Federals run pretty good.

Each rifle is different, you will have figure which ones your particular guns like.

Unless you seek out hot factory loads, if you can get them ( I'm sure they exist but I don't generally buy loaded ammo ), you should be fine. I ended up with a bunch of Remington and Winchester 308s of several loads through buying an entire collection and had no issues with my 99F shooting any of them. Seems most people who get the symptoms mentioned above are reloaders.

I spoke w/ Hornady this morning.
They are scheduled to run 150 grain 300 Savage SST beginning early October. They said that they would be able to fill MOST or their retailers backorders.
Get your backorders and watch for some availability next mo.

I too would avoid warm ammo as stickyness is a sign of excessive pressure for the 99 action. To me the 99 is a marginal 308 class action. Kind of like a Smith and Wesson model 66. it will take magnums but a steady diet is not recommended.
