Carbon wrapped or fluted? I've never even remotely considered buying a gun with a carbon-wrapped barrel but the gunshop has one in a Springfield that handles really nicely. About the only downside I can come up with is that it will take some Marine Tex or Acraglass should I ever decide to screw on a Bartlein. I'm sure there are more cons to carbon wrapping. I just don't know what they are.

They offer more rigidity without the weight penalty but the savings isn't significant enough to warrant the cost in my opinion. Other's opinions will vary.
They shine on a hunting rifle but are a step backwards on a match rifle because they heat up pretty quick.

The handle a can well though and people like the look.

Just found a really good deal for a fluted one and placed an order. I guess that answers that question!
