Hi guys been lurking around this forum off and on for about the last four years and finally decided to become a member. Got involved with FALs over at the falfiles. Went to harrisburg gun show and made a impulse puchase on a 99 I've been looking for.

I recently purchased a 99 DL made in 1961 according to murrays book. lever boss code 12m. Wood is 95% with some finish running thin on butt stock, no cracked tang. Metal is bout 98% with a slight scratch on left side receiver, the kind you see only at certain angles. Blueing worn at top of barrel ring and top of rear tang. Cut checker is perfect, so is headspace.

Guy asking 650, i paid 600 out the door. I know many of you aren't fond of tang safeties but its my cup of tea (im a lefty). Be honest, good deal or taken for a ride? either way I love the gun and plan on shoooting it tommorrow

What caliber? If it is 308 or 300 you have yourself a real nice hunting rig, not much out there for that type of money. If it is a 358 smoking deal, it it is a 243 or 250-3000 another good deal. Post mils for collectors have to have condition and rarity to attract much attention. Predrilled for scope, monte carlo stock and sling swivels, doesn't get much better than that for going hunting!

Welcome to the forum.

Thanks for the replies. Its only a .308, which is what I was looking for. I will be using it for hunting.

A couple of years back I bought another .308 series a that turned out to have excessive headspace. didin't pay much for it but still makes me mad that someone would sell a good like that. Learned my lesson though.
