Yeah 157 cci and 57 rem were for the old remington sp hulls with the composite base wad. You remember from1964 up to 70 something. Translucent green hulls and red shur shot hulls as well as the blue Peter's and of course green, red and yellow 20 ga. The base wad is not exactly durable or long life. Just got done loading a 100 rds in the high brass blue Peter's with cci 157, 32.5 grs hs-6, Remington sp-12 wads and an 1 1/4 oz of hard 5's for 1330 fps. That data is out of Lymans 3rd edn shotshell loading manual..mb

Will a primer pocket conditioner shrink a standard 209 to hold a 57 primer?
After the first shot the rest are just noise.

Google it but I have been told you can cut a piece of plastic straw slip over the primer and use in a hull that takes a 209 primer I haven’t looked in a while I may still have some 57’s I can try

A small piece of plastic straw is tedious, but it works.

Sounds like a lot of work I have about 25 hulls but they will wear out before I get the 2000 primers shot up Interested to see if the straw works I may try it as well
