Been wanting to give the 90 grain CX a try in the 6mm ARC since B4 last hunting season. The 90 grain cx never made it to market until after last years deer season. So Hammers got the nod then & they worked fine. Price per bullet on the Hammers are making the Hornady CX look like they are worth a try yet.
I have been dabbling around with the 90 grain cx bullets & more recently with some of the factory 2nds that PV has had for sale. Today i got around to giving CFE 223 a try to good effect. Finally I come up with a powder that gives me sub MOA & velocity with this all copper hunting bullet in my bolt action CZ527 with the 22" Pacnor barrel.
1 grain under Max load w the Starline Brass & a CCI BR4 has looked most promising so far.
Now we will need to verify the load with more rounds & cooler temps to see if todays results can be repeated consistently enough with temperature swings to sub zero temps for example.
Looking forward to refining this load further as temperatures drop into our hunting season.
