My Dad was a Machinist doing tool and Die work and His Father in Law,(my grandfather), worked in the same shop and had Morse brand Drill Bits that they used for precision work and didn't abuse them as they we're Quality bits made in the U.S.A. and they we're good enough to sharpen them as needed themselves with out a modern drill bit sharpener.

They look like standard jobber length drills....obviously used wherever a longer length is needed, but originally the best brands had a little tighter twist to resist higher torsional stress. All the old American names are excellent quality and steel. Union, Cleveland, Morse, American, Butterfield, Brown & Sharpe etc etc. Don't confuse brand name Morse with Morse Taper chuck system.
Well this is a fine pickle we're in, should'a listened to Joe McCarthy and George Orwell I guess.

Thank you for not referring to them as "drill bits". I'll tell you what, there were times when I was doing some deep hole drilling and my drills ended up in little bits... 😀😅😅🤣🤣🤣

I have used several bits in the #70 size range back in my tool and die days. I had a special chuck and slide made up to use them as I could not "feel" what I was doing when using them in the mill
I may not be smart but I can lift heavy objects
I have a shotgun so I have no need for a 30-06.....
