Dunno, but 20mile is pretty close to the largest city in AK. If it wasn’t a draw hunt there wouldn’t be many critters running around down there.

Shot a cow just below that bar couple of years ago. Sitting in camp eating lunch and two large cows stepped out plain as day. Waited a couple of minutes as only had one permit. 20' pack was just what the doc ordered.
Congrats!

Every since I started grinding my own meat my definition of "trophy" has changed quite a bit. The three deer I killed last year were gone by June. The moose looks delicious, congratulations!

The only way it could have been better is if I had my boys with me. I would have let one of them shoot, and it would have been real nice to have extra hands while cutting it up!

That's not fair! Next one needs to be about a 3/4 mile pack to get one back to average.

Don’t forget about the heart! It’s probably our favorite meal out of our wild game. Cooked in the cast iron, served with some sweet onions, taters w/gravy, and peas. Doesn’t get much better!

Those are the best kind! I like that kind...some good memories if somewhat modest in overall adventure. But adventure can be so painful sometimes! 😆

Way to go, Mr. Ptarmigan! I can only hope we can pull a rabbit like you did out of a hat too. Congrats and I see you're already enjoying the bounty. Good deal all around, my man, and thanks for sharing.

I appreciate the heads up on the quiz requirement. All set here.

Headed in your direction Sunday, and while our priority is obvious, I'd still very much be up for a meet and drink, meal or whatever if schedules allow.

Cheers, sir.

If you want them to drop right there, shoot them right below the hump. Drop right there, no 100yd run.

.

Any CNS placement works like that. If you can get it. From a boat (presumably not under power and drifting), at a possibly moving moose, at more than point blank range??

Double lunging is good.
