did a online auction for the 1st time, that auction was in North Dakota that had around 60 Ruger #1`s to auctioned off that day , so i put a bid in i feel i got a decent deal or better on this Ruger #1 6BR , this rifle has a varmint barrel all metal is S.S. with a nice walnut stock . i put a 6x20 Leupold on this rifle for now. kinda excited to start bench shooting this rifle . i did bid on 10 other Ruger #1`s but got only one a nice Ruger #1 300 Weatherby mag. and that rifle is very clean and nice 98-99 % i was shocked on this rifle there was 2 of these Ruger #1 300 Weatherby mag.`s and i got the better one cheaper and that was really odd ? i will let everyone know how well i can get this 6 BR too shoot off my bench at 100 yards ! take care, Pete53

Hey Pete, do you post pics here? It would be nice to see what that rifle is capable of. I know in my Ruger #1 thread, you state that your Ruger #1's are very accurate. It would be cool to see some group pics and load development pics, as I have done in the thread on my new to me 25-06. Try IMGUR, it's free and simple to use. Also, pics of both of these rifles would be cool too. Let us know how you are going to scope them as well. I know a lot of guys use extended rings on these, but I was able to use standard rings on the rifle I just bought. Running a Zeiss 3-9x42 with no issues at all. Keep us posted.

sorry never have got into posting pictures ,i don`t wanna learn either if someone don`t believe me i don`t `care, i have some reasons why i don`t care too. this new to me 6 BR might need some forearm glass bedding yet? but the barrel is heavy so i am going to play with this rifle the way it is. i always wanted a 6 BR in a Ruger #1 so i took a chance on this used #1 , if i did build the #1 i was going to do a new barrel ,machinist work and a Used Ruger # 1 S.S. would have cost plenty ,i figure i saved $700.00 - $1000.00 and then buying a used Ruger #1. i own 2 other 6 BR`s already a Savage single shot and a switch barrel Bat action /Brux barrel custom bench rifle ,but i always wanted one in a Ruger #1 and its clean and was not shot much. today will tell me the thumbs up or thumbs down ? well today`s shooting for me is over this Ruger #1 6 BR has a slow twist ,it will not shoot 105 GR. Berger VLD bullets at all , but this is the good part it really like`s Sierra 70 gr. Matchking HPBT bullets 1st 3-group at 100 yards was 3/8 of an inch , i loaded 5 more cartridges and shot those 5 at 100 yards 7/16 inch group. i feel this Ruger #1 rifle will shoot even better if i get a fiber type plate mounted on the bottom of the forearm to fit a bench rest top better ,its to tippy and to hold perfect ,will head to my gunsmith friend tomorrow. got some new bullets on the way 75 gr. and 85 gr. Hornady both V-Max bullets hope the 85 gr. will group not sure ? ir the 85 gr. bullets do shoot well might get some even better 85 gr. target bullets then ? forearm is at the gunsmith`s getting plate screws installed , so it will be a while probably ? i forgot to mention my total price for both rifles delivered to my business /home was just under $2,600.00 both of these Ruger # 1`s are 98 % or better its just the 6 BR is a custom hard to rate that the same way ? somebody did a lot of extra work on the forearm ,trigger and the target s.s. barrel too. i don`t like the crown so i might have that change yet ? right now i have a 6x20 leupold on this BR but i think i am going to change the scope out to a Nightforce target scope rifle shoots to good for this Leupold scope.
